Specialized Implant Solutions
PS® Preprosthetic is the only FDA-cleared, remotely fixated, patient-specific subperiosteal implant system available on the market. Designed for complex cases involving edentulism, pathology, or trauma, IPS® Preprosthetic is a solution tailored for cases where conventional implant systems fall short.
Utilizing CT-based design processes and additively manufactured in titanium alloy, IPS® Preprosthetic provides a functionally stable preprosthetic platform for each unique patient.
Flexible Prosthetic Solutions
Recognizing the need for greater clinical flexibility, KLS Martin developed an implant-level version of IPS® Preprosthetic. This design enables:
Custom Collar Heights
Precise collar height selection within the multi-unit abutment
Simple Component Replacement
Simplified removal and replacement of components as needed
Versatile Clinical Adaptability
Improved adaptability across a variety of clinical scenarios

Engineered for Safety and Comfort
With the new IPS® Preprosthetic bundled approach, KLS Martin now provides every component required to restore patients with a final prosthesis.
- Implant
- Temporary prosthesis
- Photogrammetry loaner unit
- Final prosthesis
- Prosthodontic components
As part of the IPS® digital workflow, cases are planned, reviewed, and finalized within our cloud-based case management system, IPS Gate®, supporting continuity from virtual planning to clinical execution.
Who Is It For?
When traditional implants aren’t an option—and zygomatic implants aren’t the preferred path—IPS® Preprosthetic provides a patient-specific alternative.
Designed for partial- and full-arch rehabilitation in patients who lack sufficient alveolar bone, IPS® Preprosthetic offers rigidly fixated and stable prosthetic foundation independant of alveolar bone availability.
Severe Bone Atrophy
Patients with severe maxillary or mandibular atrophy
Failed Zygomatic Cases
Zygomatic implant candidates, or those with failed zygomatic implants
Reconstructive Surgery Needs
Postablative, posttraumatic, or reconstruction cases requiring customized archlevel solutions
Graftless Surgical Alternatives
Surgeons seeking a solution that reduces reliance on grafting while maintaining a stable foundation
Why It’s Needed
Overcoming Bone Limitations
Conventional implantology is effective only when adequate bone and soft tissue are present. In cases of advanced resorption, post‑ablative defects, or reconstructive anatomy, treatment options may be limited, or may require more complex staged approaches.
Immediate Functional Loading
IPS® Preprosthetic addresses this gap by providing a rigidly fixated, patient‑specific subperiosteal framework that can be immediately loaded.
Rigid Surgical Fixation
In contrast to subperiosteal implants, IPS® Preprosthetic is described as fixated—a key differentiator emphasized in clinical discussion—rather than relying on non‑fixated passive seating that contributed to instability in older designs.
Streamlined Single-Stage Care
A single-stage approach can reduce overall treatment time and eliminate the need for prior grafting
Clinical and mechanical advantages
Broad Anatomical Versatility
Broad anatomical applications including midface, mandible, and double‑jaw configurations.
Single-Stage Complex Treatment
Customization allows for treatment of complex cases in a single procedure that previously required multiple stages of treatment
Multidirectional Locking Technology
Locking technology can be incorporated for multidirectional screw angulation
Customizable Implant Profiles
Ability to choose between multiple pillar height and implant profile options

Quality & Performance
Additive Manufacturing
Our implants and surgical guides are additively manufactured to ensure high precision and a seamless anatomical fit for every patient.
Premium Titanium Alloy
We utilize medical grade titanium alloy, known for its exceptional biocompatibility, strength, and long term durability in complex reconstructions.
Rigorous Validation
Every component undergoes extensive testing and validation protocols to meet the highest safety standards for surgical performance and reliability.
Advanced Mechanical Testing
KLS Martin utilizes sophisticated In-Silico Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to simulate and ensure the structural integrity of each custom framework.
Treatment Workflow Snapshot
Digital Diagnosis & Virtual Planning
The journey begins with high-resolution 3D imaging (CT or CBCT scans). These scans are uploaded to the IPS Gate® platform. Your surgeon works directly with KLS Martin engineers to virtually design an implant that fits your bone anatomy.
Surgical Implantation & Temporary Fitting
Once the custom titanium framework is manufactured using 3D laser melting, the surgery takes place. Because it was designed specifically for you, the implant fits precisely onto the bone surface.
Soft Tissue Healing & Digital Scanning
After surgery, there is a healing period (usually a few weeks) to allow the swelling to subside and the gums to settle around the titanium posts. Once the tissue is stable, the dentist uses an intraoral scanner (a digital camera for the mouth) to take a “digital impression” of the posts.
Final Prosthetic Fitting
The final stage involves the creation and attachment of your permanent teeth. A dental laboratory uses the digital scans to design a custom “bar” or “bridge” that snaps or screws onto the implant posts. A dental laboratory uses the digital scans to design a custom “bar” or “bridge” that snaps or screws onto the implant posts.
Why Choose IPS®?
The IPS® system offers a predictable and streamlined alternative to traditional bone grafting. By focusing on a “patient-first” design, we ensure that the implant adapts to the patient, resulting in better stability and a more efficient surgical journey.
